The english version of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 was brought to the linux community by Lokigames. The game is a turn-based strategy game developed by New World Computing released by the 3DO Company in 1999. It is the third installment of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. In contrast with the "cartoonish" graphical style of previous games, Heroes of Might and Magic III has a more subdued, serious look. Below are some information on which version the language pack applies, about installation and something about the features. You should read them carefully.

How do i install it?

Installation is simple, just follow the steps below. If it does not work, please send a bug report to me. Notice: There is no reason to download all language packs, except testing, if you only want to play in your native language only download your language pack. The setup process automatically detects available language packs.

1. Download babelize-heroes3-de-1.0.0.tar.gz from above.
2. tar xzf babelize-heroes3-de-1.0.0.tar.gz && cd babelize-heroes3-de-1.0.0
3. ./configure && make && make install

Are there any limitations or known problems?

Yes and no, it depends on definition. First of all i can say the complete game is localized, the campaigns, the mission briefing, the menus, the speech and the story. Below you see the list of known limitations and bugs.

The Loki credits are missing in the localized h3sprite.lod
